THE SYSTEM INCORPERATES THE FOLLOWING
One Veritas 8 battery - mains control panel with 8 switchable zones, automatic alarm reset, time delay entry and exit and part guard setting .The panel is normally installed in a utility cupboard and is very easy to use with indicator lights to monitor each detector. The alarm is set by simply pressing full set or part set buttons and disarmed by entering a 4 digit code of users choice.The system now also incorperates a panic button, mains failure detection and fire detection.
One sealed 12v 3 amp hour rechargeable battery which will power the alarm system for up to 24 hours in the event of mains failure then automatically recharge when the mains supply returns. Installed inside control panel. Normally needs replacing every 5 years.
One external high power 115db sounder with flashing blue strobe light to warn off intruders and alert neighbours.The sounder is constructed from vandal resistant polycarbonate and is installed high up on a front facing wall.The unit also incorporates a rechargeable battery and anti tamper switches to activate the sounder if the cover is removed or if unit is removed from the wall. The sounder can be seen and heard from up to half a mile away at night when activated and automatically resets after 5 to 20 mins (selectable) providing intruders are no longer present.
One high power internal siren with ear splitting 112db output to shock intruders into retreating from property.Normally installed in hallway so that sound waves are projected throughout the property when activated.
Two advanced digital PIR movement detectors with false alarm suppression installed at strategic positions to detect intruders.The detectors have a detection range of up to 12 meters and are normally installed in the hall way and in the corner of the living room.The detectors will also activate the alarm if fire is detected when set .Pet alley can be set up to ignore the presence of cats and dogs below a certain height.
OPTIONAL EXTRAS (can be added at any time) Up to 3 remote key pads can be added to set and unset the alarm from remote locations eg by front door,back door,bedside etc. Up to 2 external sounders or dummy sounder housings can be added to enhance the external deterrent effect. A automatic telephone dialer can be added to summon help from friends or relatives. Any number of 24 hour panic buttons and smoke detectors can be installed to active the alarm in event of personal attack or fire when the system is unset. Up to 6 PIR movement detectors can be added to protect extra rooms. Up to 4 external animal proof intruder detectors can be added to protect vehicles in drives, gardens ,outbuildings etc.
OPERATION We have been installing the interceptor 5000 for over 10 years and it has proved to be very reliable and easy to use. To set the alarm simply press full set if going out or part set if going to bed. To unset the alarm enter a 4 digit code of your choice. If a fire breaks out when the alarm is set or the mains supply fails for more than 12 hours or is cut, the inside and outside high power sirens will activate to summon help. If prowlers or unwanted visitors appear when the alarm is unset press 3&9 on the panel or remote keypad to activate the inside and outside sirens as a panic alarm to summon help. If an automatic telephone dialer is added up to 8 phone numbers will be called to summon help if any of above is activated and any voices or sound from the property can be monitored over the phone. NOTE UNLIKE WIRELESS BURGLAR ALARMS THE INTERCEPTOR 5000 CAN NOT BE JAMMED OR FALSE TRIGGERED BY RADIO JAMMING DEVICES.
A wireless alarm jammer prevents the intruder detectors from activating the wireless alarm system in the event of a break in. If the wireless alarm has a jamming detection facility this will activate the alarm each time the jammer is activated. A jammer left permanantly on within a distance of 100meters will therefore cause constant false alarm activations.
Hand portable and mobile multi band spread spectrum radio jammers carried by intruders to false activate or jam the operation of wireless alarms operating in the 433mhz and 868mhz radio bands. These devices are NOT approved for use in the UK but are easily available over the internet.
